House: Charming cottage. Stunning hill views Position: Situated in a pretty village only two miles from Chalais for shops, markets, mediaeval streets, castle and supermarkets. Aubeterre is a must only five miles away. Situated as it is on the doorstep of the Dordogne, Perigueux, Brantome and Riberac are just a stone's throw away. Delightful large garden. The cottage, attached to the owners house, is self contained. With its private swimming pool (9x5m 21/05-30/09), it has everything one could want for relaxing holiday. Garden furniture and barbecue provided.Interior: The attractively decorated cottage retains original features such as stone walls, beams and terracotta floors. Well equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle and toaster. Bright and airy, the spacious living room has a comfortable lounge area with antique French bed, a wood burner, satellite TV, DVD, a pleasant dining area opening onto the terrace. Spacious, nicely decorated twin bedroom. Bathroom with wc. Bed linen and towels included. Beds made on arrival. House: Immaculate and tasteful, amazing views, peaceful countryside Position: One mile away from a bakery. Chalais is just over three miles away with a supermarket and plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants. There is fishing close by and riding stables just over five miles away. The vineyards of Bordeaux and Cognac are easily accessible with the coast and the Dordogne valley both close enough for a day trip. The house looks over lawns and gardens to fields and hills beyond. The owners live next door but both houses are self-contained. Large garden in front of the house with garden furniture and built-in barbecue. Large balcony with table and chairs overlooking the rear gardens with far reaching views. Fenced swimming pool (10x5m 10/05-15/10). Covered parking, table tennis and swings.Interior: Attractive kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle and cafetière. Large beautifully furnished living room with log burning fire, comfortable leather armchairs, sofa, dining area and television, with reading room on mezzanine. Double bed behind a screen with en suite shower and wc. Master bedroom with queen sized bed, ensuite shower, wc and pretty lounge area to relax in. Cot and highchair available.
