House: Exceptional country house in extensive parkland Position: The beautiful estate of Chateau de Fontenay, where the house is situated, is a mile outside the pretty old town Nérondes with its shops, supermarket and Saturday market. The Berry region is full of riches with its Romanesque churches and Romantic châteaux, the Sancerre vineyards, the motor racing at Nevers-Magny Cours and the lovely cities of Bourges and Nevers. The east facing garden laid to lawn has garden furniture and barbecue, perfect for al fresco dining. At the rear of the house, the very large garden houses the swimming pool (10x5m, 15/05-30/09) with a roller shutter both as a method of security and to keep it warm. The garden is ideal for children to play in safety. There are some lovely walks in the park and the surrounding woods which are full of wildlife.Interior: A very spacious house, beamed throughout. Nicely decorated, it retains the immense charm of the houses of the Berry region. Fully equipped kitchen looking out over fields and farmland, with cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, cafetiere and table. Pleasant dining room with large fireplace. Attractive spacious lounge with a very high beamed ceiling, large fireplace, piano, sofas, armchairs. Along the corridor, a bedroom opening onto the garden with two single beds, en suite bathroom, wc and dressing room. Separate wc with basin. A wooden staircase leads to a lovely cosy double bedroom with en suite bathroom and wc, with lovely views over the countryside. The other staircase leads to a twin bedroom and a bunk room which share a bathroom. Separate wc. Double room with en suite bathroom and wc. Downstairs, the laundry room with washing machine and sink, leads to the back garden. Electricity payable locally. One large towel per person and bed linen included. Beds made on arrival. Nérondes is only 5 minutes' drive for shops, a gourmet restaurant, supermarket and Saturday market. Close to the famous Sancerre vineyards, the lovely cities of Bourges and Nevers and the motor racing circuit of Magny Cours. Nicely decorated country house with large tree and flower filled garden where children can play safely. Plenty of space to park cars. Garden furniture and barbecue to the back of the house and to one side a large above ground swimming pool (7x3m 14/05-30/09). Plenty of lovely walks in the surrounding woodland which is full of wildlife.Interior: Spacious, bright and comfortable country house full of charm with a homely feel to it. Fully equipped separate kitchen with hob, oven, washing machine, microwave, fridge/freezer, cafetiere, kettle and toaster. Lovely dining room with large table and dresser which leads to the spacious, stylishly furnished lounge with decorative fireplace, TV and HiFi. Delightful master twin/double bedroom with ensuite bathroom and wc. Separate wc off the hall. Up the open tread stairs are five bedrooms: two twin/double rooms and three twin rooms. Bathroom with wc, shower room and separate wc. Cot and highchair available. Electricity payable locally. Bed linen and towels included.
